Mid-July Update

The first week (we love it already)

It's been a great few weeks. The weather has been really hot, it's been getting up to 90 degrees but also very humid. We haven't fully unpacked yet because the air conditiong unit in one of our rooms went out and we just got it fixed on Wednesday! We also got our couch delivered, and with the AC fixed we can finally move into our bedroom and put the mattress on the bedframe. I think the cats are most excited about having the bed put together.

Last week Jake and I visited a comic book themed video game restaurant. It was a very intresting place. All the games were free to play, and they had really good chili cheese fries.

We also went to see a movie with our friends Abbie and Ross last weekend. It's a Japanese movie from the 1950s called "The Seven Samurai". All four of us really like the movie. When we went to see it in the theater, there was a man who fell asleep right at the beginning and slept through the whole movie, you could hear him snoring!

After seeing the movie we went to a Japanese restaurant with our friends. We had ramen and split a dessert that was a giant ball of shaved ice with a syrup on top. I thought it would be like a snow cone, but there was filling in the middle of the shaved ice and the syrup was really sweet. We got a strawberry flavored one, and a green tea flavored one.

So in the last few weeks Jen and Jake are finally getting unpacked! We got our couch, our AC fixed, our bedroom setup, and we got a rug for our living room! The cats love the rug. We've also just been exploring our neighborhood and trying to stay cool in this heat.
