Rachel comes to visit!

In early January, Jacob's sister Rachel came to visit. It was really nice to see her. She brought us a bunch of cans of Skyline Chili! And she brought Jacob a cheese coney from Cicninnati. Somehow the cheese coney held up from the flight from Cincinnati to NYC.
We mostly stayed around Brooklyn. We wanted to go see some parks, but that was when the weather was really cold! It was freezing every night.
We did spend some time thrifting in Bushwick. Jacob and Rachel wanted to get donuts at a place called Peter Pan donuts, but the line was to long, so instead they got really good breakfast sandwhiches at a place called Frankels.
After that they got some yummy Italian pastries from a place called Fortunato Brothers.
She also taught us to play rummy, and it turns out Rachel is way better at Rummy than Jacob and I lol. She stayed with us for a few days. That was the weekend before Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky got hit with the big snowstorm.

We had dinner at this delicious Indian restaurant called Atithi. The food was great but the waiters were filling up our water glasses every 30 seconds.

The Olive Garden in Times Square with Abbie and Ross

In January, we decided to go to the Olive Garden in Times Square with our friends Abbie and Ross.
We thought it would be fun to get dressed up in our fancy clothes for the dinner. The guys all wore suit jackets, and the girls put on nice dresses and skirts.
The food was delicious. I got lasagna and Jacob got 'the Tour of Italy', which is Chicken Parm, Lasagna, and Alfredo. I thought the bread sticks were the best part! We were able to sit at a table with a window so we could see Times Square.
After dinner we walked around Times Square a bit. Because of all the lights, it still looked like daylight outside eeven though it was almost 9 pm.
Abbie got a picture with one of the Elmos. Well, she tried to get a picture with just the Elmo but then a Minnie Mouse swooped into the picture as well. Those Times Square characters are crazy!
It was a really fun night. But it was also cold outside that night! Times Square is about 30 minutes train ride from where Jaco and I live.
The 4 of us were able to ride the subway home together since we were all going the same direction home.
