One more time
The last leg of our move involved renting an SUV, packing up the cats and our remaining belongings and driving all the way up to Brooklyn one final time. We planned to do it all in one shot, rather than stop at a hotel, reducing the stress on the cats. We packed the SUV the night before, and then loaded the cats the next morn. I had a ton of trouble sleeping, and was only able to get about 5 hours of sleep. Regardless, we had to wake up at 6 am to begin the journey.

We got very lucky with the drive. We barely hit any traffic or bad weather, the cats were very well behaved. We made it to Brooklyn in about 10 hours.
Unpacking
After the 10 hour drive, we illegally parked in front of our favorite fire hydrant and began unpacking. It took us about an hour and we got everything inside right before it started storming. I dropped the SUV off and ubered back home, finally finished with the trip by around 10 PM. We were incredibly relieved to be done with the move, but also exhausted. With no energy left, we door dashed some italian sandwiches, drank a few beers and went to bed. The cats were a little freaked out at first but they quickly relaxed and started exploring the apartment. Jen and I were both surprised that ruby wasn't hiding for the first few days.
