Halloween with Zander and Steph

At the end of October, our friends Zander and Steph came to stay with us. It was a ton of fun.

Jacob was just getting over being sick the week before, when I got whatever he had. Zander and Steph came up Wednesday evening, but I was still sick so I stayed in bed while they hung out with Jake. Luckily, I was feeling much better the next day. On Thursday, Zander cooked us dinner with chicken and pureed squash, it was really good and looked really fancy. Then after that we started on carving some pumpkins. We cut the tops off our pumpkins and scooped the guts out that night, and we planned to finish carving them but we never got to that part!

Friday was Halloween. We all 4 dressed up. Jacob and I were from the movie Weapons, and Zander and Steph were characters from the TV show Arrested Development. We went and got dinner at a nice restaurant called Nowon. Nowon has really good burgers. Then we headed to a Halloween event at a place called Wonderville. Wonderville is really cool, it's a bar and event space that also hosts indie arcade games. At Wonderville, they were having a concert where local bands dressed up as and played covers of famous NYC bands. The first band we saw was covering LCD Soundsystem and the second band was covering Interpol. We left after that, beause it was getting a little late and crowded for us! Plus it was so cold out on Halloween, we were ready to head back to the warm apartment and watch a movie.

On Saturday we did a little bit of exploring. We went into Manhatten and planned to spend time out there, but it was so cold and windy we didn't get very far before we went home and ordered Chinese food for dinner.

On Sunday, our guests left. They had a long drive home back to Cincinnati. It was a great weekend and a great way to spend Halloween.
